Our urns are designed for indoor display. Extended exposure to moisture, humidity, or direct weather will damage the wood and brass over time. For outdoor memorials, please contact us about protective treatments.

The brass will develop a beautiful natural patina over time, which many families prefer. If you'd like to maintain the original shine, use a gentle brass cleaner with a soft cloth. Avoid abrasive cleaners that may scratch the engraving.

What if the urn gets scratched?

Minor scratches on the wood can often be buffed out with fine-grit sandpaper (400+) followed by a light application of the same finish type. For deeper damage, contact us — we're happy to help with refinishing.

How do I determine the right size?

The general guideline is 1 cubic inch of capacity per 1 pound of body weight. For example, a person who weighed 180 lbs would typically need an urn of at least 180 cubic inches. Our Standard size (100–220 cu in) works for most adults. When in doubt, go slightly larger.

Can I transfer remains into the urn myself?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Most families find this manageable with the help of a funnel provided by the funeral home. The top panel of our urns can be gently removed to provide access. If you'd prefer guidance, your funeral director can assist, or feel free to call us.
